Virginia Lucille Bennett, age 77, of Lake City, Florida, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Affectionately known as "Boots," she was born in Baker County on June 6, 1943, to J.S. and Vertie Lucille (Gay) Raulerson.
Boots loved her family and friends more than anything. To know her was to love her and her infectious smile and laugh was something she gave freely to all who met her. She loved her dogs and spending time in nature. She was a huge animal lover. She had a heart of gold and was always there if you needed her. Boots enjoyed yard sales, dancing, and playing pool. She collected many things as she was a woman of various tastes. She took great pride and pleasure in her treasures she collected. She was so loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, James "Jim" Bennett; brother, Shelton Purvis; and granddaughter, Michelle. She is survived by her children, Robert S. Phillips (Tracie) of Macclenny, Donna Davis (Judy) of Macclenny, and James Phillips (Dana) of Lake City; brothers, Tommy Purvis and Ernie Purvis; grandchildren, James Phillips, Dougie Davis (Christy), Alexis Asbury, Robert M. Phillips (Myca), David McCormick (Brandi), and Lacey Parrish; great-grandchildren, Kayla Charles, Ashley Charles, AJ Boyd, Drake Davis, Keithan Hadley, Orlean Hadley, Lance Hadley, and Wyatt Parrish; along with other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
