Mr. Verner William Parker, age 65, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away at his home on Saturday, July 4, 2020. A lifelong resident, he was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Virgil and Rosie (Fouraker) Parker and was affectionately known to his family as “Pa.” Verner graduated from Ed White High School in 1973 and retired from CSX Railroad. Verner was a member of The Church at Sun Coast. He was a hard worker, enjoyed playing music on his guitar, and loved his family dearly.
Verner was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Debbie M. Parker of Jacksonville; son, Gary Moore of Jennings; daughters Tina Barrett (Brian) of Baldwin, Phoebe Escobar (David) of Jacksonville, and Tiffany Boyarovsky (Oleg) of Macclenny; brothers, Drane Parker (Teri) and Mark Parker (Angie), both of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Carson, Darci, Grant, Layla, Parker, and Rosemary; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Maxville with Pastor Richard Fish officiating. Interment in Brandy Branch Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
