We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Blackburn-Curry Funeral and Cremation
Tonya Marie Thomas, age 44, of Maxville, Florida, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at her home, comforted by her loving family. She was born on September 8, 1977, in Lake City to Pastor Freddie Eugene and Dollie Mae (Bass) Griffis but lived her entire life in Maxville. Tonya was a wife, mother, and grandmother that enjoyed searching for hidden treasures in yard sales and thrift stores, cooking for her family, doing her hair and makeup, but the most satisfying times were the ones spent surrounding her grandkids with time and love.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 25 years, Roger Dean Thomas of Maxville; son, Douglas Eugene Thomas (Shyanne) of Maxville; parents, Freddie and Dollie Griffis of Maxville; brothers, Danny Griffis and Wesley Griffis (Cookie), both of Maxville; sister, Missy Padgett (Dickie) of Clay Hill; grandchildren, Lakynn Bug, Logan, Leigha, and Lane.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kent Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
