Timothy Charles Leighton Sr.

Timothy Charles Leighton Sr., age 69, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. He was born on August 18, 1953, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to John and Aline Lerner Leighton. Mr. Leighton has lived in Jacksonville for the past two years, having moved from Colorado. He loved reading the Bible faithfully every morning and loved The Lord. Mr. Leighton enjoyed doing yard work, walking in the woods, feeding animals, raising dogs, and nature in general. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Timothy Charles Leighton, Jr. Survivors include his daughters, Katie Combs (John) of Jacksonville, Ann Merrett of St. George, Georgia, and Amy Johnson of Daytona Beach; brother, John Leighton, and sister, Mary Lou, both of Indiana; grandchildren, Chase Sweat, Savannah Stephens, Leon Stephens, Cayla Mincey, Jenny Combs, Jada Leighton, Gage Leighton, Jennifer Boykin, Bailey Merrett, Gracie Townsend, Edward, Gabe, and Sabastian Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Everley Mincey and Waylon Stephens. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Lane Avenue Church of God, 2956 Lane Avenue North, Jacksonville, Florida, with Pastor Steve Dubose officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
As per his wish, he will be cremated and spread among his property on the Beautiful Colorado Mountains at a later date.
