Sylvia Foster Peeples, a devoted member of Hunter Park Baptist Church for 52 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Born on July 19, 1936, to James Douglas Foster and Sarah Alice Moody Foster, in Leesburg, Florida, Sylvia was a pillar of strength and love for her family and community. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Kenneth Foster.
Sylvia shared 67 years of marriage with her cherished husband, John "Jay" Peeples. Their union was a testament to enduring love and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a foundation of love and support that will forever be remembered.
Sylvia was a dedicated mother to her two children, Kenney (Dena) Peeples and Kevin (Tracey) Peeples. Her legacy extends through numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by her kindness and wisdom.
Known for her selfless nature, Sylvia was the quiet force behind the scenes, ensuring that everything was in perfect order. She took great joy in supporting Jay and their boys, making their accomplishments and endeavors her own. Her devotion and care knew no bounds. Sylvia Foster Peeples will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service to honor Sylvia's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Hunter Park Baptist Church, 4448 Emerson Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
