Roy Knight Obituary

Mr. Roy Paul Knight, age 74, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, after a short illness. Roy was born in Cross City, Florida, on February 7, 1946, to William G. Knight and Beulah V. Knight, and had lived in Baker County for the last 17 years. Roy was a hardworking, good-natured, husband, father, and grandfather with a servant’s heart whose greatest joy in life was helping others. He served his country faithfully and had a distinguished career in the United States Navy that spanned 25 years. Roy was a committed Christian with a servant’s heart and a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Baldwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James W. Knight; and sister, Glynna K. Stitt. 
Survivors include his devoted wife of 54 years, Lounell Knight; sons, William Keith Knight (Wendy) of Jacksonville and Brian Paul Knight (Alicia) of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Thomas D. Knight (Doris) of Panama City; sister, Marilyn V. Snider of Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas; and grandchildren, Emily, Alexis, Stewart, and Jordan. 
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218 with Dr. Dewayne Jowers officiating.
