Raymond Phillips Jr. Obituary

Raymond “Ray” Carley Phillips Jr., age 72, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022. He was born in Jacksonville on February 1, 1950, to the late Raymond Carley and Virginia Elizabeth (Rouse) Phillips.
Ray chose to enlist in the U.S. Army in 1969, where he trained as an aircraft electrician before being stationed in Vietnam. He served two tours of duty with the 79th Transportation company in Vietnam before being honorably discharged in 1971. He was very proud of his military service and having attained rank quickly.
Ray loved living in Baker County for the last 22 years. He retired from Revlon in 2010. His greatest joy was spending time at home with his wife and sharing stories of his time in Vietnam. He always enjoyed working with his hands and had a reputation for being able to fix just about anything.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Arlene Phillips; stepson, Mark Kuester; brother, Steve Phillips; and sisters, Frances Reddick and Patricia Mastrangelo.
Ray will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Jacksonville National Cemetery (Lane 2) with Military Honors.
