Michael Eugene Cody

Michael Eugene Cody, age 67, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was born on June 3, 1955, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, to Ralph and Alma Rock Cody and lived in Jacksonville most of his life. 
Mike grew up on the St. Johns River and loved boating from an early age. If you knew Mike well, you probably enjoyed a “fun day with Brody” on the water. Mike was the proprietor of Cody’s Tire Service for many years and worked hard to provide for his family. He was an avid golfer, he loved the Jaguars, the beach, the pool, and anything with a motor. He was a grill master and he loved to tell stories and spend time with friends and family. 
Mike was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends having a cookout or a beach day. 
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Karen Cody; mother, Alma Cody Oller; son, Mike Cody II (Regina); 3 daughters, Heather Barber (Danny), Sara Jewett (Dana), and Rebecca Dwyer (Jacob); 8 grandchildren, Hayley, Danielle, Abigail, Julie, Jacob, Michael III, Mikala, and Caden; brother, Thomas Cody (Shirley); along with one nephew, Eric Cody; and numerous family members and friends. 
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Mandarin Cemetery, 12107 Mandarin Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32223, with Pastor Dewayne Jowers officiating. The family will receive guests at a reception immediately following the service at the Mandarin Community Club, 12447 Mandarin Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32223.
