Marvin Ezell Rowell, age 86, of Hilliard, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at the Community Hospice Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach. He was born on September 15, 1935, in Jacksonville, the only son of the late Ozie E. and Willie Belle (Nitschke) Rowell. Mr. Rowell lived a number of years in Reidsville, Georgia, until moving back to Hilliard earlier this year to be closer to the grandkids. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and listening to Bluegrass music. Marvin proudly served this nation during the Korean War as a United States Marine. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Minnie Rowell of Hilliard; sons, Paul Ray (Tina) of St. Augustine, Robert Rowell of Hilliard, and Jonathan Rowell (Stacey) of Jacksonville; daughters, Sharon Howell (Joe) of Callahan, and Amanda Rogers of Hilliard; grandchildren, Joey, Kayla (Christian), Christian, Gabby, Hannah, Zachary, Isabelle, Abby, Gabriel, Clara; and great-grandchildren, Carson, Cambri, Cohen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Oceanway Assembly of God, 12240 Sago Avenue W., Jacksonville, Florida 32218 with Pastor Ken Barney officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate 1), 4535 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206.
