Marlin Suggs II, age 60, of Maxville, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Clay County. Marlin was born in Tampa, Florida, the son of Marlin “Bud” and Helen (Thompson) Suggs, and had lived in Clay County for the past 26 years. He was a caring husband and father. Marlin loved meeting and engaging with people. He spent his youth hunting and offshore fishing. He loved riding four-wheelers and was an avid antique engine collector. Most recently, Marlin developed a great passion for beekeeping.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 35 years, Sheila Suggs of Maxville; daughter, Lauren Ayla Suggs (Colin Selby) of Middleburg; parents, Bud and Helen Suggs of Jacksonville; brother, Lester “Buddy” Suggs of Daytona Beach; uncle, Melvin Suggs; aunts, Mildred McClintic and Arline Perusse; along with numerous cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Jenny Lynn Reeves officiating.
