Lillie "Joy" Matthews Obituary

Ms. Lillie Joy Matthews, age 64, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at St. Vincent Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on January 1, 1957, in Macclenny to Ernest and Lillie Ruth (Raulerson) Davis, and has lived all of her life in Baker County. Joy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandbabies. 
Joy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kymberly Joy Matthews; and brother, Earnest Gene Davis. Survivors include her son, James “Jimmy” Matthews Jr. (Nikki) of Valdosta, Georgia; sister, June Barton (Cliff) of Macclenny; beloved grandchildren, Gracie Matthews, Alexis Matthews, and Dixie Ann Burnsed; along with nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends that loved her.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Joy and Kymberly Matthews will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dale Hodges, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
