Kenny Franklin "Drifter" Turner Sr., age 74, of Alachua, Florida, entered into glory on Thursday, February 18, 2021, from an extended illness with loving family by his side. He was with his loving niece, Vickie Curtis, and great-niece, Terry Davis who were his caregivers the last two years.
Kenny was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on July 17, 1946, to Kenny Alfred and Emma Earlie (Thomas) Turner. He grew up in Macclenny and Maxville, Florida. Kenny started driving semi-trucks at age of 16. He then became known as "Drifter." Drifter loved the open road and traveling all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Drifter logged more than a million miles in his 46 years of driving until health caused his retirement. Kenny met many wonderful people who now call him friend. He met and married some amazing women and grew an awesome big family. Kenny loved his family more than anything. After his retirement, he enjoyed NASCAR, playing poker, dice, and watching game shows. But mostly he loved the time spent with family and friends.
