Mr. Karl “Danny” Daniel Brooks Sr., age 67, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Clay County after an extended battle with cancer. He was born on October 13, 1953, in Barnwell, South Carolina, to the late Karl Allen and Dorothy (Tillman) Brooks, and had moved to Orange Park after living in Baker County for several years. Danny was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather that enjoyed watching car racing. But he loved spending time spoiling his grandkids most of all.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Henry C. Brooks; and his sister, Dolly C. Thompson.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Michelle “Mitzi” Brooks of Orange Park; son, Karl Daniel Brooks II (Audra Putnal) of Orange Park; daughters, Andrea Brooks Campbell of Orange Park and Amanda Michelle Walker of Ocala; brother, Allen Causseaux (Carla) of Jacksonville; sisters, Karleen Farmer of Bryceville and Dorothy Brooks of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Joseph K. Walker, Sumer Riveria (Jacob), Laurin Walker, Daniel Walker, Lukas Graham, and Casey Anne Brooks; great-grandchild, Mateo.
A committal service with military honors will be held for Danny at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
