Juanita Snyder Lyons, age 87, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2022. She was born in Jacksonville on July 1, 1935, to Johnny and Rena (Gainey) Snyder. Juanita retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida after working many years as a Medicare Fraud and Abuse Investigator. Most of all, she was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a Proverbs 31 woman.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Chesten and Dewey Snyder; sisters, Margie Crews, Kathleen Tyner, and Eloise Mullins; son, Robin Paxton; and her beloved husband of 21 years, Robert “Papa Bob” Lyons. She leaves behind two sons, Johnny Paxton (Pat) and Robert Donald Paxton; daughter-in-law, Karen Paxton; grandchildren, Jonathan N. Paxton (Michelle), Charles David Paxton (Kim), Joseph Paxton (Missy), Heather Rountree (Chris), Holly Paxton-Mossman (Tim), and Katherine Sandoval (Jason); great-grandchildren, Douglas Pennington (Sarina), Jasmine Vermillion, Lucas Vermillion, Hannah Paxton, Hayden Paxton, Eli Mossman, Christian Paxton, Gavin Rountree, Chase Paxton, Brandon Ayres, Elena Sandoval, Lincoln Paxton; great-great-grandson, Kai; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Glen Baptist Church with Dr. Chas Rowland officiating. The interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., in Jacksonville. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
