Joyce Cobb Welch

Joyce Cobb Welch, age 85, of St. George, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab. She was born on March 27, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida, to John Troy and Nellie Mae Belle (Bolden) Cobb.
Mrs. Joyce was a member of Grace Baptist Church in St. George. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who focused her time and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to the care of her family. Mrs. Joyce always had her bible and read it every day. She loved to pray for people and sing praise and worship songs. She truly lived to serve The Lord.
Mrs. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elick Eugene Driggers Sr.; son, Elick Eugene Driggers, Jr.; daughters, Sabrina Ann Anderson, Brenda Karen Driggers, Cheryl Jean Driggers, and Susan Gayle Greene; brother, Alford Butler; sisters, Frances Hand, Syble Cobb, Gayle Nichlos, Virginia Alexander, and Patty Rushing; son-in-law, R. Wayne Lewis; and stepson, David Davis. Survivors include her husband, Joe Welch of St. George, Georgia; daughter, Anna Lewis-Mosley (Tommy) of Jacksonville; brothers, Leamon Butler, and James Butler; sister, Tammy Gilbert; stepchildren, Billy Atwood, Lisa Powell (Larry), Joel Welch, Patty McCoy (Buddy), and Ruth Lee (Mikie); stepdaughter-in-law, Janet Davis; 24 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Reverend Gene Burnsed and Pastor Bob Hines officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
