John Phillip Ward

Mr. John Phillip Ward, age 59, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville after an extended illness. He was born in Tifton, Georgia on July 25, 1961, to John Richard and Vernice Catherine (Davis) Ward. His family lived in Ashburn, Georgia before moving to Orange Park, Florida, and Phil graduated from Orange Park High School in 1979. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an avid NASCAR and Gator fan.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Stachia Sutton (Luke) of Glen St. Mary and Sierra Perry (Tyler) of Middleburg; sister, Donna Ealum of Middleburg; nephew, Christopher Getman (Stephanie) of New Jersey; grandchildren, Jordan, Kayla, Kaden, Bryan, Sawyer, and Sutton; 3 great-nieces; along with a host of relatives in Ashburn, Georgia.
Phil will be laid to rest with his family and next to his father at New Prospect Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia at a later date.
