Jody Lynn Rogers, age 64, of Clay Hill, Florida, crossed into eternity to be reunited with family that has gone on before her on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Columbus, Georgia, on July 26, 1958, to Elizabeth Mae (Golden) and George W. Burnsed and had lived in Clay Hill for the past 20 years. Jody was a devoted wife, caring mother, grammy, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and “sunflower” who enjoyed gardening, spoiling her grandkids, traveling with her husband, and beach trips with friends.
Jody was preceded in death by her parents; mother, Elizabeth Ray; father, George Burnsed; stepfather, Lewis Ray; sister, Lisa Edenfield; and brother-in-law, Pat McMillan. Survivors include her beloved husband of 38 years, Terry Rogers; son, Travis Rogers (Laura); daughter, Heather O’Brien (Troy) all of Clay Hill, Florida; brother, Bill Burnsed (Wanda) of Oregon City, Oregon; sisters, Denice Bergold (Dan) of Roswell, Georgia, Frankie McMillan of Salem, Oregon; brother-in-law, Raymond Edenfield of Maxville, Florida; and grandchildren, Caroline, Emily, Sarah, Sadie, Melanie, and Trevor.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Long Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Harry Conaway officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m.
