Mrs. Jeannie Mae McKinney, age 81, of Starke, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville after a brief illness. She was born in Lawtey on July 18, 1941, to Lillie A. Howard and Nathan Crawford.
She was a member of Sampson City Church of God where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved her church and church family. She worked as a seamstress at Cadillac Uniform, Keystone Uniform, and Lake Butler Apparel. She adored her many pets, most recently her dog, Lillie, and cat, Kitty. She also loved spending time in her yard tending to her plants and flowers. She enjoyed doing things for others including making hand-made gifts by sewing and crocheting.
Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her loving husband, John D. McKinney, and her beloved mother, Lillie Davis. She is survived by her long-time dear friend, Juanita Norman of Maxville; nieces and nephews, Diane Thomas (Larry) of Shellman Bluff, Georgia, David Harris (Robbin) of Jacksonville, Nancy Harris (Buddy) of Jacksonville, and Robin Long (Mark) of Jacksonville.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Sampson City Church of God, 8252 SW County Road 225, Starke, Florida 32091, with Pastor Gene Bass officiating. Interment in Crosby Lake Cemetery will follow. Visitation with friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
