Janie Lee Herrin, age 58, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, July 3, 2021. She was born on April 19, 1963, in Jacksonville to Robert and Sallie (Nolan) Smith and lived there most of her life. She was a quiet, easy going soul that enjoyed reading and devoting her time to the care of her family.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Harold Herrin; and sister, Rose Lee.
Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla Herrin (David) of Jacksonville; brother, Johnny Smith (Cindy) of Maxville; sisters, Kathy Mobley (Cherill) of Macclenny, Joyce Nix of Macclenny, Peggy Sue Mathews of Jacksonville, Sallie Doyle (Arnold) of Middleburg, Elizabeth Bennett of Middleburg, Grace Bourg (Roy) of Rock Mart, Georgia, and Cynthia Cabato (Ernie) of Yuma, Arizona; brother in law, Bill Lee of Middleburg, FL; grandchildren, Alexis, Brooklynn, and Chloe; along with nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Elder Bobby Padgett officiating. Interment in Nolan Ridge Cemetery in Maxville will follow. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
