Ms. Jane Elizabeth Hatcher, age 71, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 19, 1949, to Gene L. and Phylis (Christensen) Neal.
Jane was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had been a resident of Baker County since 1984 and retired from the USDA Wildlife Services after many dedicated years. Jane was affectionately known as “Nannie” to her grandchildren, both biological and adopted. Jane was an avid NASCAR and Gator fan and loved to read. Jane loved to spend time with her loved ones either watching T.V. or just talking for hours. Her door was always open, with a welcoming smile on her face.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her canine partner in crime, Mr. Blaze Hatcher. Jane is survived by her loving daughters, Angie Conner (Freddie) and Peggy Parrish, both of Glen St. Mary; sisters, Elaine Davis (Spence) of Waycross, Georgia, Wanda Morris (Bert) of Ponte Vedra Beach, and Donna Davis of Bryceville; grandchildren, Alee Nipper, Ethan Hatcher, Gavin Conner, Caitlyn Parrish, Amber Hudson, Cortney Conner, and Taylor Conner; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Taytumn, Corvin, Darrin, and one on the way; along with numerous nieces, nephews, adopted kids, other family members, and friends.
A Celebration of Jane’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
