James Edward Irish, age 86, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Jacksonville at the Community Hospice Center for Caring at St. Vincent’s Riverside. He was born in Fenton, Michigan, to Wilbur C. and D’Vera (Stock) Irish and had lived here in Baker County for the past 46 years. Mr. Irish served faithfully with the United States Army until his retirement. He then became an Officer with the State of Florida Department of Corrections and worked until his second retirement. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles C. Irish; and his sister, Lula Clark. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Anna Irish of Macclenny; sons, Jimmy Irish of Dandrige, Tennessee, and Billie Irish of Macclenny; sister, Barbara Baker of Hampton, Georgia; grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Irish, Dustin Irish, Stacy (Liz) Irish, Angel Irish, Billy Irish Jr., and Elizabeth Irish; great-grandchildren, Evan, Anna, Jevaun, Romeo, and Cordeo; dear friends, the Nipper Family; along with many other family members and friends.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
