Heather Dismuke Obituary

“I have Come by the way of the Cross.”
On Thursday, March 9, 2023, Heather Dismuke, age 52, of St. George, Georgia, passed into the glorious hands of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, with her family by her side after a heroic battle with colon cancer.
Heather was born on December 7, 1970, on Castle Air Force Base in Merced, California, as the oldest of three children, to Maxie and Wanda (Watson) Helms. Heather was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, aunt, friend, devoted Christian, and Pastor’s wife. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Macclenny, Florida, where her husband has pastored for 19 years. Heather graduated from Trinity Baptist College of Jacksonville, Florida, with a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education and a double minor in Music and English.
Heather had many passions in her life. Playing the piano, singing, swimming, snorkeling, reading, quality time with her family, running, Alabama Crimson Tide football, and teaching piano are just a few. She enjoyed going to the beach and listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Heather’s life touched an innumerable amount of people. Her friends reach far and wide, with too many to name.
Most importantly, Heather was a devoted servant of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Her testimony impacted the lives of so many. One of her most memorable verses is John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” This verse was used to help lead her to salvation. What a great confirmation we have! We know Heather is in the presence of the King.
Heather is survived by the love of her life and husband of 29 years, Pastor Torran Davin Dismuke; precious children, Hailey Hannah Dismuke, Joseph Davin Dismuke, and Jared David Dismuke; father, Maxie Preston Helms; mother, Peggy Wanda (Watson) Helms; sister, Hope Elaine (Helms) McNeese; brother, Heith Maxie Helms; nieces, Sabinka, Karolina, Morgan, and Madison; nephews, Clayton and Clint; along with a host of other family and friends who love her dearly.
To honor Heather, in lieu of flowers to the family, a donation to the school she worked at and loved would be appreciated. Faith Baptist Academy of Macclenny, Florida is the school her daughter graduated from, and her two sons attend. It was founded by her husband, Pastor Torran Dismuke. Heather enjoyed tutoring, directing the music and chorus department, and much more at Faith Baptist Academy.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church of Macclenny, 604 West Macclenny Avenue in Macclenny with Evangelist Dean McNeese and Pastor Dewayne Jowers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The interment will take place at Doerun City Cemetery in Doerun, Georgia at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
