Gene Autry O'Steen

Mr. Gene Autry O’Steen, age 79, of St. George, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family after an extended illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Alvy Bud and Mildred Marie (Muse) O’Steen. Mr. O’Steen had been a lifelong resident of Jacksonville before moving to St. George a year ago. Gene was the owner of O’Steens Auto Parts from 1965 until he closed his business in 2012. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother who enjoyed playing and listening to Country music, along with antique cars and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Janice E. O’Steen of St. George, GA; daughter, Melinda E. Pippins (Alex) of McAlester, OK; brothers, Dudley O’Steen (Beverly) of Jacksonville, FL, Ricky O’Steen, of Jacksonville, FL, and Terry O’Steen, of Interlachen, FL; sister, Melinda Darlene Taylor (Wade) of Interlachen, FL; grandchildren, Brandy Nicole Bergman (Matt) and Payton Pippins; great-grandson, Brayden M. Bergman; nieces, Keya, Jennifer, and Karlyn; nephew, Robby; along with cousins, other family members, friends and his beloved dog, Bella.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 6:30 pm with Blane O’Steen officiating.
