Furman Daniel “Dan” Kerr, age 82, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, completed his journey from this world to his heavenly home on Monday, April 4, 2022. He was born on November 10, 1939, in Jacksonville to the late Robert J. and Beatrice E. (English) Kerr and had lived in Baker County for the past 15 years. Mr. Kerr was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He devoted his time and love to the service of his Savior Jesus Christ and the care of his family and church family. Dan graduated in 1958 from Tech High School in Jacksonville and enlisted in the United States Army. After the service, he married his beautiful wife, Anne (Bird) Kerr, and they have spent the past 58 years growing with each other and their family. He was a longtime member and deacon of Glen Baptist Church, and the light of his memory will burn on in the hearts of his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Anne E. Kerr; son, Danny V. Kerr (Amanda); daughters, Kimberly Ann Kerr and Debbie Diane Deems; brother, Robert “Bobby” Kerr (Mary); sister, Alice Winn; grandchildren, Megan Kerr, Christian Allen (Morgan), Daniel Kerr Jr., Krista Deems, and Phillip Deems (Angela); great-grandchildren, Bailey Kerr, Kylee P. Allen, and Amelia Allen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Glen Baptist Church with Pastor Chas Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the church.
