Everett Highsmith Jr. Obituary

Mr. Everett Tommy Highsmith Jr., age 68, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Shands UF North. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of the late, Everett T. and Lillie (Knowles) Highsmith, and spent most all of his life in Baker County. Everett was a caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed music, playing his guitar, fishing, and cooking out. His greatest love though was the time he spent with his family. He was a meat cutter for 26 years with Winn Dixie until he shifted to driving trucks until his retirement. Mr. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Johnny and Freddie Highsmith; and his sister, Denise Gleason.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years, Debra L. Highsmith; sons, Donnie Jenkins (Jessica), Chris Jenkins (Kim) and Tommy Highsmith III all of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Lillie Ann Busbee (Michael) of Macclenny, FL and Danielle Highsmith (Jeffrey) of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Margie Nevitt and Latrelle Kilgore-Carter both of Jacksonville, FL; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
