Mr. Evan Michael Rhoden, age 33, of Pinetta, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was born on June 3, 1987, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Trena (Williams) and Michael Rhoden. Evan grew up in Baker County and graduated from Baker County High School in 2005. He had served as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army. Evan was a proud combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was also a Correctional Officer at Baker Correctional Institution. Evan graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2019 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Evan was raised in the Baptist church and had a true servant’s heart. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, making his cars fast, and his trucks big. Evan loved spending time with his family and friends. He was dedicated to his personal fitness and training while maintaining his passion for cooking and riding on his tractor.
Evan was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his beloved soulmate and wife, Amanda M. Rhoden; father, Michael R. Rhoden (Marc Davis); mother, Trena D. Pociatek (Bryan); sons, Brayden L. Rhoden and Tye L. Forrester; daughters, Cally E. Whitehead and Kinsley C. Rhoden; sisters, Katie M. Wilson (Phillip) and Emily D. Pruett (Monty); along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Christian Fellowship Temple with Pastor Jim Cox officiating. The interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Please practice proper social distancing if you are able to attend.
