Elvis Dale Tinsley, age 77, of Maxville, Florida, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at UF Shands Gainesville. He was born in Hart County, Kentucky, to Roy Elvis and Hallie (Jones) Tinsley.
Mr. Tinsley retired from Auto Crafters in 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served as a faithful Deacon at FBC of Maxville for 19 years. He was a great Christian man who loved the Lord and his family. He loved to fish and also taught his grandsons.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Tinsley; and sister, Earlene (Bossie) Wood. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marian (Higginbotham) Tinsley; son, Jeffery Dale Tinsley (Cindy); daughter, Wendy Tinsley Higdon (JoJo); sister, Brenda Hatcher (Larry); and sisters-in-law, Connie Brown (Richard) and Donna Wilkinson; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Higdon (Garrett Skipper), Dustyn Higdon (Marisa Ricci), Faith Tinsley, Holdyn Higdon and Ethan Tinsley; and soon to be great-granddaughter, Raylee Skipper; along with many other family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Maxville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the church with Pastor Steven Gunter and Reverend Richard Fish officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery with military honors.
