Doris Marie Hall Weaver passed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, June 4, 2018. She was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on March 22, 1929, always joking that she caused the Great Depression.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Adams Weaver. She is survived by her daughter, Beulah Elizabeth Weaver Fountain (Dr. Jonathan Fountain); granddaughters, Michelle Fountain Thompson (Rev. Keith Thompson) and Stephanie Fountain Richardson (Clay Richardson); and three great grandchildren, Richard and David Thompson, and Caleb Richardson.
Doris spent much of her life in White Springs, was a leader in many community and church activities, and relocated to Milton, FL to be near family in 1991. She was active at First Baptist Church of Milton and greatly enjoyed her pool and card friends; the Griffiths, along with others, became Milton “family.” She moved with Beulah and family to Fleming Island in 2015 where she was active at Hibernia Baptist Church. Doris loved laughter, fishing, handwork, was an excellent seamstress and an encouragement to those whose lives she touched. She was a selfless mom and “Crazy Grandma,” who frequently referred to the last 25 years as “icing on the cake.” She prayed fervently and looked forward to Heaven.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Home with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Cemetery in Lake City, FL.
