Mrs. Diane Esau Smith, age 76, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Diane was born in Oneida, New York, the daughter of the late Frederick William and Carol (Mires) Esau, and had lived in Lakeland, Florida until moving to Macclenny 13 years ago. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, baking, crafts, travel and sharing time with her family. Diane was a graduate and proud alumna of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Class of 1966, as well as the founding director of A Woman’s Choice Pregnancy Center in Lakeland, where she served for almost 25 years. She was an advocate for human life and rights, both for the born and the unborn.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband of 46 years in 2014, Joseph Rico Smith.
Survivors include her son, Frederick Key Smith (Andrea) of Macclenny; and grandchildren, Benjamin Jacob Esau Smith and Emily Diana Kathley Smith of Macclenny.
Private graveside services will be held at Lakeland Memorial Gardens in Lakeland, Florida.
