Deborah Shirley Johnson, age 59, of Macclenny, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2020. Debbie was surrounded by her husband, six children, their spouses, and all grandchildren when she entered the fullness of the presence of God. She was a devoted wife whose calling was to love her husband and raise her children to follow the Lord. She homeschooled all six children from preschool to college, until her passing. Second to her family, Debbie’s life was devoted to sharing the gospel locally and across the world. Many people in Florida, India, Colombia, Nicaragua, and Guatemala will join her in heaven because of her faithful witness for Jesus. Debbie also had a passion to worship through scripture reading and music. She led daily “Bible Time” with her children and taught them to love the Word of God and singing. Because of her example, her children are faithfully following the Lord and have served in music ministry and evangelistic mission trips.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband Stephen Johnson of Macclenny, FL; daughter Jennifer Blair, her husband Jonathan Blair and their children: Eleanora, Genevieve, and Elias of Dothan, AL; son Matthew Johnson, his wife Kellie Johnson and their son Oliver of Macclenny, FL; daughter Michelle Schelm, her husband Paul Schelm and their sons: Judah and Rowan of Chancellor, AL; son Luke Johnson and his wife Catherine Johnson of Auburn, AL; son Robert Johnson of Macclenny, FL; daughter Kathryn Johnson of Macclenny, FL; parents Wayne and Gail Shirley of Huntsville, AL; sister Sandra Allen and her husband Kenneth Allen of Prattville, AL; sister Cindy Carrol and her husband Jeff Carrol of Huntsville, AL; and many nieces and nephews.
