Mr. Cyrus B. Higginbotham Jr., age 82, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Jacksonville after an extended illness.
Cyrus was born on October 27, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Cyrus B. and Roma (Sellers) Higginbotham and had lived in Baker County for the past 43 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, but his greatest joy was sharing his time and love with his family. Mr. Higginbotham retired after 27 years as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Josh Lawson Knabb. Mr. Higginbotham is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jewell Higginbotham of Macclenny; son, Cyrus Jeffrey Higginbotham (Darlene) of Sevierville, Tennessee; daughter, Lisa Gail Knabb (Todd) of Macclenny; sisters, Alean Hall of Macclenny, and Eva Johnson (Eugene) of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Lauren Craig (Matt), Casey Higginbotham, and Brooke Knabb; great-grandchildren, Anna Grace, Caleb, and Luke Craig; along with numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
