Mrs. Christine Potter, age 87, a longtime resident of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 30, 1934, in Lawtey, Florida to Thomas S. and Edna Bell (Prevatt) Norman.
Mrs. Potter was a loving and devoted mother, Nanny, great-grandmother, and sister. Christine was a member of Christian Fellowship Temple, and her family was her life. She loved her plants, flowers, gardening, and going on cruises. She could light up a room with her beautiful smile, and her beauty was timeless. She will be missed beyond measure.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Gilliam (Joe) of Glen St. Mary and Charlotte Fraser (Al) of Glen St. Mary; sons, Eulie Dugger (Cheryl) of Baldwin, Dale Hodges (Marie) of Glen St. Mary, Timmy Dugger (Amy) of Macclenny, Danny Dugger of Nashville, Tennessee, and Rick Wood (Emily) of Jacksonville; brothers, Phillip Norman of Stockton, Georgia and Sammy Norman of Jacksonville; sister, Tommie Sue Davis of Glen St. Mary; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Christian Fellowship Temple with Pastor Timmy Thomas and Pastor Dale Hodges, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville.
