Charles “Charlie” Albert O’Steen Jr., age 53, a lifelong resident of Macclenny, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was born in Jacksonville on October 14, 1967, to Charles A. and Bertha (Barton) O’Steen.
Anyone who knew Charlie knew that he was a kindhearted man of many talents. He loved to fish, and he always claimed to have a favorite, secret sweet spot. Charlie loved animals, especially his dog, Champ. He enjoyed helping others and got joy out of the simple things in life, a lesson we can all learn from him. Charlie didn't meet a stranger. His grin and that chuckle he had could brighten up any room. He will be missed more than words can say.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. O'Steen, Sr. He is survived by his son, Jonathan O’Steen of Stark; mother, Bertha O’Steen of Macclenny; four sisters, Mary (Harry) O’Steen of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Vedra O’Steen of Macclenny, Marie (Jesse) Pogue of Macclenny, and Vickie (Casey) Hall of Waldo; along with a large extended family, and many friends.
A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held at a later date.
