Mr. Charles Lee Ridenour Jr., age 83, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. He was born on December 24, 1937, in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Charles Lee and Edith Ora (Lochala) Ridenour.
Mr. Ridenour was a loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a Master Electrician with Gilman Paper Company until his retirement. Charles had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a caring animal rescue advocate. Charles also enjoyed sailing and protecting the environment. He and his wife lived aboard a 42-foot sailing yacht, The Kathleen, for nearly 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John David Ridenour. Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Carlene Brown Ridenour of Glen St. Mary; son, Joe Boston (Suzie) of Callahan; daughters, Theresa Henderson (David) of Glen St. Mary, and Amanda Pipitone (Jacob) of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren, Kristie, Sonja, Wylie, and Wyatt; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Josephine, and Ophelia Rose.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Ridenour will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Chas Rowland officiating.
