Mr. Charles Edward Petzinger Jr., age 64, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was born in Jacksonville on December 31, 1956, to Charles E. and Geraldine (Brown) Petzinger. Charles spent his early years in Macclenny and moved to Jacksonville in Jr. High School.
He was an Ed White Commander, Class of 1975, an avid model railroader, and motorcycle enthusiast. Trains were his life. Charles was an Engineer with Florida East Coast Railroad for 28 years, and if he wasn’t operating them, he was spending his free time watching them. He was a terrific uncle and friend that will be deeply missed.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his two sisters, Kay Pearce and Cathy Tallent.
Survivors include his nieces, Angela Pickett (Wiley) of Macclenny and Joan Williams of Georgia; nephew, Derek (Tina) Pearce of Jacksonville; along with other family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at North Prong Cemetery in Sanderson.
