Chap "Irvin" Wilkinson

Chap “Irvin” Wilkinson, age 80, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville after a brief illness. He was born in Jacksonville on August 26, 1942, to Daisy Ellen (Schaffer) and Chap Wilkinson. A veteran of the United States Army, Irvin lived in Glen St. Mary for the past 50 years and had attended Sanderson Congregational Holiness Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed watching NASCAR, dirt track racing, tending his garden, and watching hummingbirds come to his feeders. Irvin was a playful, caring soul who loved jokingly picking on folks to make them smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, along with several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 2.5 years, Susan Wilkinson of Glen St. Mary; stepdaughters, Barbara, Felicia, and Tiffany; brother, Robert Wilkinson (Vickie) of Middleburg; and several grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Justin Griffis officiating. Interment will follow in Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
