Mrs. Carolyn Padgett Higginbotham, age 78, of Maxville, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Macon, Georgia, after a brief illness. She was born on May 31, 1943, in Clay County to Fred and Dorothy Lee (Solomons) Padgett.
Mrs. Carolyn retired from the Duval County School System after 55 years of driving generations of children safely on the school bus. She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who adored her family and loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was full of love and compassion, and she always put all others before herself.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Buddy Solomons and Ellis Padgett; her son, Woody Higginbotham; and her devoted husband of 62 years, Edwin Woodrow Higginbotham, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Della Higginbotham of Maxville; brother, Sollie Solomons (Marcia) of Maxville; sisters, Ellen Coleman, Levonia Ezell, and Maude Miller (Raymond), all of Maxville; grandchildren, Eddie Higginbotham (Tina), Robert Joseph Higginbotham, and Hope Higginbotham; great-grandchildren, E.J. and Alex Higginbotham; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddie Griffis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
