Carolann DeMott

Carolann (Brennan) DeMott, age 88, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023. She was born on July 24, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey, to Helene (Deegan) and Charles Brennan. She grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey, and after graduating from Mt. St. Dominic Academy in June 1953, Carolann enrolled in the Barbizon modeling agency. From there,
she worked at Westinghouse where she met the love of her life, Dan. After moving to Basking Ridge, New Jersey in 1978, Carolann became the Assistant Tax Assessor for Bernards Township. Upon retiring after more than 20 years, she moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Carolann was a caring mother who enjoyed reading, had an infectious sense of humor, loved to travel, and had a zest for life. She was a long-time member of the Basking Ridge Wine Tasting Group, where she made lifelong friends. She loved to celebrate any occasion with her family. Carolann was devoted to her 5 grandchildren and was so proud of each one of them.
Carolann was steadfast in her faith and a devout member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, Daniel J. DeMott in 2001; her parents; and her brother Daniel Lee Brennan, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Judith Reuben (Gary) of
Boonton, New Jersey; son Dennis DeMott of Ponte Vedra Beach; daughter, Danielle Hoffer (John) of Acworth, Georgia; and grandchildren, Daniel (Lisa), Devin, John, Amanda, and Meghan. 
Family services will be held at a later date in New Jersey.
