Mr. Breckie L. Wilfong Sr., age 60, of Taylor, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He was born in Jacksonville to Gerald Ray and Marylin Jean (Wilkison) Wilfong and has lived in Baker County for the past 25 years.
“Coach Breckie” was a huge football fan and a devout Florida Gator. While football was a favorite choice, he dedicated his life to teaching kids to learn and enjoy Little League Baseball and Travel Ball year round. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle whose passing leaves a large void in his family’s hearts.
Breckie was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn.
Survivors include his sons, Breckie L. Wilfong Jr. (Jenni) of Jacksonville and Kyle Edward Matthew Wilfong of DeBary; daughter, Heather Cheree Magarowicz of Jacksonville; father, Gerald Ray Wilfong of Taylor; sisters, Cynthia Mangiafico and Jerri Hulett, both of Taylor and Tina Hicks (James) of Keystone Heights; former spouse, Janice Wilfong; grandchildren, Reece, Sadie, Stella, and Everly.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Breckie’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allen Crews and Pastor Bobby Griffin officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
