Mrs. Betty Lou Thomas, age 82, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab. She was born on June 19, 1938, in Valdosta, Georgia, to John and Lillian Rogers (Milburn) Ray. Mrs. Thomas moved to Baker County in 1976 from Jacksonville. A member of Glen Hill Primitive Baptist Church, she was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress and cook. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 21 years, Johnnie Thomas; several brothers; one sister; and her dog, Angel Thomas. Betty is survived by her sons, Marty R. Farnesi (Rosemary) of Macclenny, and Vincent Farnesi (Pamela) of Macclenny; daughter, Debra Farnesi of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren, Christopher Wood, Michael Wood, Kimberly Wood, Danielle Farnesi, Rachel Yelko (Zach), and Sarah Smallwood (Josh); great-grandchildren, Atley Wood, Lucas Wood, Dalton Reeder, Shailyn Wood, Madison Finley, Daniel Westinghouse, and Archie Smallwood; the father of her children, Raymond Farnesi; along with other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Glen Hill Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Arnold Johns officiating.
