Mrs. Betty Jo Quiett, age 81, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away at her home on Monday, December 27, 2021, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on November 4, 1940, in Taylor County, Florida, to Leroy “Roy” B. and Cora (Byrd) White and had lived in Baker County since 1975.
Betty enjoyed traveling, working in her garden, and going to church to strengthen her fellowship with the Lord, but dedicated her life to taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred L. Land; son, Delbert Quiett; and daughters, Linda Myrnell and Louise R. Combs. Survivors include her devoted husband of 64 years, Louis C. Quiett of Macclenny; son, Robert I. Quiett (Donna) of Hatchbend, Georgia; daughters, Betty J. Johnson (Bruce) of Sanderson, Teresa Brantley, and Lisa P. Darrell, both of Macclenny; brothers, Leroy White Jr. of Plant City and Johnnie White (Ann) of Steinhatchee; daughter-in-law, Terri Quiett of Macclenny; 28 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021, at Baptist Purity Church, 9 Central Avenue NE, Steinhatchee, Florida 32359, with Pastor Bobby Hires officiating. Interment will follow in Waters Memorial Gardens in Steinhatchee, Florida.
