Ms. Betty Jean Barlow, age 72, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to William L. Croft and Rosa Estelle Croft. Betty grew up in Macclenny and eventually moved to Jacksonville, where she raised her family. She had worked as a hospital administrator at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and loved cooking, thrift shopping, and being with her family. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Croft; and her sons, Ben Calloway, and Billy Joe. Betty is survived by her children, Crystal Turner, and Christopher Cherry (Monique), all of Jacksonville; father, William L. Croft of Macclenny; brother, William “Bill” Croft of Macclenny; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Private family services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Macclenny at a later date.
