Mrs. Avalee Carroll Coffman, age 99, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, was an amazingly kind, Christian woman that was called home to rest on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Mrs. Coffman was born on November 5, 1922, in Grand Ridge, Florida, to Alfred Lee and Elvira Elizabeth (Ward) Carroll and had lived here in Baker County for the past 10 years. She was a jovial, easy going soul that carried a deep love for her family and an even deeper faith in service to her Lord and Savior.
Avalee was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Pierce, Alfred, John, and Dave; sisters, Estelle, Mildred, and Alice; as well as her beloved husband of 63 years, Alvin Malone Coffman.
Survivors include her daughters, Amaralys C. Dill of Jacksonville, and Sylvia C. Fish (Kenneth “Rex”) of Glen St. Mary; sister, Polly Gore of Macclenny; grandchildren, Stacy Rex Fish (Jaime), Alison Alloush, Arthur Dill, and Allan Dill; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 29, 2021, at Mt. Zion New Congregational Methodist Church with Pastor Shane Conner officiating. Entombment at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville will follow. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
