Amy Alford Flanders, age 57, of Olustee, Florida went to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 4, 2020, at NFRMC in Gainesville, Florida after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Amy was born on August 21, 1962, to the late Vernon and Violet (Davis) Alford. She was a loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and Mimi. Amy was a member of Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church. All the children Loved to see Mimi at church with her church bag full of candy. She loved to sing for the Lord with her sisters and spending time with all her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gayle Alford; brother, David Alford; and nephews, Peedink Alford and John Alford.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 33 years, William Flanders of Olustee; sons, Harvey Flanders of El Paso, Texas, Matthew Flanders of Olustee, and Garrett Sullivan of Sanderson; daughters, Tonya Flanders of Olustee, Haley Theophile of Macclenny, Shannon Norman and Kayla Harrington of Lake Butler, and Elissa Miller of Lake City; one granddaughter, Abigail Flanders; six sisters, Cathy Griffis of Olustee, Betty (Bobby) Barnes of Macclenny, Joan (Mike) Midyette of Margaretta, Susan (Billy) Godwin, Lydia Alford, and Sonia (Sam) Combs, all of Sanderson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Dinkins Church. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020, at Dinkins Church with Reverend Allen Crews and Sam Combs officiating. Amy will be laid to rest next to her parents in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
