IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Byron
Painter
November 13, 1940 – June 16, 2024
William Byron Painter, age 83, of Sanderson, Florida, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, under the care of Community Hospice at Baptist Medical Center South. He was born on November 13, 1940, in Johnstown, Ohio. He was the son of Grace Leona (Sheron) and Howard Beamer Painter and had lived in Baker County for the past 9 years. Bill was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. Bill never met a stranger and befriended all. His warmth and sense of humor will continue in the hearts of those who knew him best. Farewell for a little while. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Jim, and Richard; grandson, JC; great-grandsons, Luke, and Gunner; his first wife of 19 years, Beverly, and his second wife of 18 years, Patricia. Survivors include his sons, William B. Painter Jr. (Wendy) of Yulee and Jerry Gillenwater of Huntington, West Virginia; daughters, Diana Crosby (James) of Sanderson and Connie Wilcox (Wayne) of Graham; brothers, Roland "Pappy" (Shirley), Curt (Jeri), and Phillip (Jo), all of Newark, Ohio; sister, Margaret Morgan (Virgil) of Newark, Ohio; grandchildren, Bradley, Joshua, Aaron, Kelli, Timothy, Haley, Lauren, Chelsi, Emma; and 17 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chas Rowland officiating. A gathering with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Bill's memory be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care online at thefoundationcares.org, or to the (AFA) Alzheimer's Foundation of America at alzfdn.org. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the dedicated care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL AND CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063, (904) 259-2806.
