Werner George Ernst, Jr., age 80, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022. George was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania on May 30, 1941, to Werner George Ernst, Sr. and Emma Catherine Ernst. He lived in Jacksonville most of his life and served in the United States Air Force. He retired from TECO Gas Company where he worked as a service technician. George loved to golf, hunt, and fish. He was a longtime member of Outhouse Anglers and Jacksonville Bass Club. George was a friend to everyone that knew him and never failed to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Erwin Warren Ernst and Robert "Bob" Stephen Ernst. Survivors include his nephew, Darin Ernst (Lisa); niece, Lori Methvin (Jason); sister-in-law, Jackie Ernst; 2 great-nephews, Kyle Moore and Brandon Ernst; 2 great-nieces, Jordan Ernst and Brittany Johnson; along with numerous other family and a host of friends.
