Wanda Joyce Kirkland, age 72, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 14, 1953, in Mobile, Alabama, one of four children to Dorothy (Sullivan) and J.B. Fauscett. Mrs. Kirkland was a devoted wife, caring mother, and beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, or "Grammie" as the kids affectionately called her. She enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. Wanda had a green thumb and could make a twig grow into something beautiful. She was also a preschool educator for over 30 years. Wanda loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Manntown Congregational Holiness Church. A home maker, caregiver, and educator to small minds, Mrs. Kirkland was the true definition of love to her family and others. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Byron Fauscett; grandchildren, Tracy Sweatt and Blaire Davis; and her beloved husband of 48 years, David Earl Kirkland. She leaves behind her loving daughters, Suriffa Sweatt (James) of St. George, Georgia, and LaBreeska Bargeron (Alvin) of Glen St. Mary; sisters, Sylvia Edwards and Carla Smith, both of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Brooke Davis (Markas), Tyler Sweatt, and Shelby O'Neill (Justin); great-grandchildren, Bentley Sweatt, Bayliegh Sweatt, Karsen Davis, Raylen O'Neill, Sydney O'Neill and Whitlee O'Neill; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Manntown Congregational Holiness Church with Pastor Karl Hall officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 4:00-5:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Jacksonville National Cemetery (Lane 3), 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32218.
