Vincent H. Dutton Jr., 91, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was the son of Vincent H. and Alice M. Dutton. Vincent was born and lived in Olean, New York, until his service in the United States Navy (USN) and United States Air Force Reserve, where he was last stationed at Patuxent River, Maryland, and Bolling AFB, D.C. While stationed in southern Maryland, he met and married his beloved wife, Hope C. Dutton. Vincent then transitioned to a government civilian as an Engineering Technician working on the instrumentation of various USN aircraft and fighter jets for more than 40 years until retirement. He was a superior handyman and had many interests and talents including woodworking, sheet metal, crabbing, family barbeques, and giving tours of D.C. for multiple relatives. Vincent thoroughly enjoyed birdwatching and traveling with his wife. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florida. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Hope, his parents, and his brother. Survivors include his sister, Harriet Wilday of Olean, New York; children, Jane M. Davis (Tim) of South Carolina, Margaret D. Riojas (Leonard) of Florida, Joseph P. Dutton (Charlotte) of Maryland and Elaine H. Rose of Virginia; grandchildren, Kimberly Mears (Mark), Olivia Dutton, Laura Dutton, Theresa Riojas, and Andrew Riojas; great-grandchildren, AnnieJane Mears and Juniper Gervin. A private funeral Mass for the family will be held at his church in Florida with interment in Maryland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Vincent's memory to the Second District Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, 45245 Drayden Rd, Valley Lee, MD 20692.
