Mrs. Toria Virginia Higginbotham, age 90, a lifelong resident of Maxville, Florida, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Community Hospice Center for Caring at St. Vincent's Riverside. She was born on December 24, 1932, to Hance and Nettie (Hodges) Sweat in Macclenny. Mrs. Higginbotham was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Baldwin Church of God. Toria loved everyone. She loved the Lord, and she enjoyed feeding folks that came to visit. One of her favorite things to do was holding hands and sitting on the front porch with her love, E.D. Mrs. Higginbotham was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 73 years, Elijah "E.D." Higginbotham; sons, David Higginbotham and Douglas Higginbotham; brother, Johnny Sweat; and sisters, Alma Hopps, Shirley Rhoden, Bernice Raulerson, and Wilma Blackwell. Survivors include her sons, Gary Higginbotham, John Higginbotham (Kathy), and Steve Higginbotham (Diane); sisters, Sally Colee and Mandy Wainwright; special nieces, Patty Hollifield, Loretta Rowe, and Sarah Wainwright; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; along with other family members and friends. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Baldwin Church of God. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Baldwin Church of God with Pastor Larry Thornton and Pastor Danny Musick officiating.
