Tommy Hue Whiddon, age 70, of Clay Hill, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born on February 26, 1956, in Heidelberg, Germany, to Larry and Leanette Whiddon, but spent most of his life in Jacksonville. 
Tommy was a graduate of Englewood High School, class of 1975. At the age of 17, he went to work at Memorial Hospital as a “Pot-Washer.” His dedication and hard work, along with an incredible mind that gifted him with knowledge in many fields of interest, led to his quick advancement to the Carpenter Shop, followed by becoming a Civil Engineer for 30 years. 
Tommy met his future bride Debbie, a co-worker in the “Dish-room” at Memorial Hospital. They would celebrate 52 years of marriage on August 3, 2026. He loved wood working, cooking, hunting, and was an avid fisherman. Enjoying all of these with family, as well as the holidays and get togethers. Tommy experienced the greatest moment of his life when sitting in his home with Dr. Jerry Vines, who shared with him the love that Christ had for him. Tommy believed and received the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. 
Tommy had a great love for his family and now joins those who have preceded him in death. Those include his father, Larry Whiddon, and a nephew, Jason. The surviving members of his beloved family include his precious wife of 52 years, Debbie Whiddon; his mother, Leanette Wallace; daughters, Jennifer Mann (Travis) and Sarah Dix (Steve); brother, Wayne Whiddon; sister, Cindy Bacon (Chris); grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Gavin, Emily, Lydia and Beach; nephews, Corey and Bryan; nieces, Kelly, Courtney, Casey, Christy, Kara and Jaclyn; along with many other family and friends. 
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Clay Hill Baptist Church, 6054 County Road 218, Clay Hill, Florida, with Dr. Rick Crews and Reverend Van Whiddon officiating. Interment will follow at Long Branch Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
